Who It's For

Woodworkers who have outgrown 14-inch saws and want production-grade 17-inch throat and 12-inch resaw capacity with a 2 HP motor, in a currently-produced model with full Grizzly parts support. Requires a dedicated 220V circuit and does not ship with a plug. Buyers who do not need beyond 14-inch capacity should stay with a G0555-class saw; those needing 5 HP continuous production should step up to an 18-inch machine.

What Owners Praise

  • Resaws wide dense hardwood (9-inch white oak, thin veneer) without motor bog-down
  • High fit and finish with precise, positive controls
  • Rack-and-pinion roller blade guides stay accurate through full travel
  • Strong quality-for-price versus competing 17-inch saws

What Owners Report as Limitations

  • Blade-tension and fence handle placement is awkward — you reach under the stock to adjust
  • Blade shroud makes guide and upper-bearing access difficult to set with a feeler gauge
  • No interlock on the tension lever, so the blade can pop off if started with tension released
  • Stock blade is poor quality and wide 1-inch blades are hard to install and remove

Upgrades & Compatibility

Accepts 131-1/2 inch blades 1/8 to 1 inch wide at 1700/3500 FPM. Two 4-inch dust ports accept standard hose. Cast-iron fence and miter gauge included; Grizzly sells model-specific replacement and resaw blades. A foot-brake variant (G0513X2BF) is available. Prewired 220V; no plug included.
